PMO MD Inspects Development Progress at Caspian Port Amid Caspian Littoral Governors’ Summit

caspian Saeid Rasouli, Managing Director of the Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), along with members of the organization’s Board of Directors, visited the development and infrastructure progress of Caspian Port concurrent with the Meeting of Governors of Caspian Littoral States.

Saeid Rasouli, Managing Director of the Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), conducted an inspection of Caspian Port’s development and infrastructure projects on the sidelines of the Caspian Littoral Governors’ Summit, accompanied by members of the PMO Board.

During the visit, the delegation reviewed key operational and development activities, including cargo handling operations, hinterland expansion, marine infrastructure completion, and the progress of private-sector investment projects underway at the port.

Rasouli emphasized the strategic importance of Gilan Province’s ports, positioned at the crossroads of the North–South and East–West transport corridors. He noted that Caspian and other Gilan ports are well placed to strengthen Iran’s role in regional trade and expand cooperation with neighboring Caspian states.

He called for accelerating the completion of remaining projects—particularly those linked to the integrated maritime–land logistics chain—and underscored the need to continue enhancing technical infrastructure, optimizing operational processes, and attracting new domestic and foreign investment. Rasouli added that closer coordination between Gilan’s ports and other northern ports is a priority under the PMO’s unified transport and logistics plans.
